It’s that time of year again!
Team Osteopath is being revived, this year under the coordination of the Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy, to take part in The ASICS British 10k London Run on Sunday, 6 July 2008.
All funds raised in sponsorship by the Team will directly benefit the charity’s programmes, which include three free family clinics in the UK, the shortfall in its pioneering education programme and its osteopathic outreach projects at two London-area hospitals’ neonatal intensive care units. The FPO, which is not funded by the Government, needs to raise £1million each year to operate its services.
Osteopaths and other friends of the profession are encouraged to put on their running shoes and take part in one of the most well known events in the UK. All participants will receive a custom running vest, assistance with fundraising (e.g. posters, collection boxes and sponsorship forms) and a finisher’s commemorative medal. Even better, Team Osteopath members will have the satisfaction of supporting the only charity in the UK specialising in osteopathy for children and mothers!
The FPO will pay the registration fee of £29.50 for every runner who is able to commit to raising at least £200 in sponsorship – though more is always welcome! Spaces at this event always sell out, so be sure to get in touch soon if you want to take part. Anyone interested in joining Team Osteopath should contact Esther at the FPO by calling 020 7490 5510 or sending an email to esther.gillham@fpo.org.uk. Please join us for what will hopefully be Team Osteopath’s most successful fundraising event yet.
Deadline for sign-ups: 16 May (We have 12 guaranteed places, but can find more with notice!)
